Bento Thursday, November 15
If late, be efficient.
Shepherds pie
I boiled potatoes and mashed it after it softens. Put a tsp. of butter and salt and set aside.
Stir fry ground beef and add about 2 tsp. rice wine and 2 tsp. soy sauce and season with salt and pepper. In a baking dish lay ground beef and mashed potato to make two layers. Then bake 170 degree Celcius for 20 minutes.
Garden fresh salad
While baking the shepherd’s pie I proceeded to tearing and cutting of vegetables for salad. Then I peeled the egg that was boiled with potatoes and put them all together. I used cheese, carrots, turnip, tomato, lettuce and one more leafy thing that’s a frequent find in jap market. I will id as soon as possible. Whip mayonnaise with ketchup and assemble in the bento box.
Cold cuts
These are just combination of hotdog, ham and a shrimp seasoned with salt and pepper. Kitchen saver!
Rice balls
I first lay saran wrap and sprinkle with nori and the other one with sesame seeds, put the rice, wrap and shape it. Both ready to go!
there goes our bento for the week! no bento last Friday, coz after 2 weeks of eating homecooked food we somehow missed eating out!

nagugutom ako pag dumadalaw ako dito.:)
but i'll get by my left over pizza from the fridge. haha
Gah, nakakagutom talaga. Pwede bang pumunta bang dyan tapos magpaampon na lang ako sa yo? Hehe.
hmmm. the shrimp looks good. gusto ko rin ng kanin na may sesame seeds, but i only have black seeds.
raqx, with what and how do you use oyster sauce? you mentioned it before, but i don't know with which bento. do you use it with "ginisa?" i'm running out of ideas. there aren't many asian spices here.
mitsuru, masarap talagang kumain aminin mo na! palusot mo pa blog na to :P
ced, sige punta ka dito!!! pwede ka nga mag work dito in demand yang skill mo dito as in.
karms, you can use oyster sauce on almost anything! veggie plus meat is my fave. pwede din sa fried rice. ginisa ok din. parang sya na yung sauce. adjust mo lang with salt and pepper or use some veggie that can balance the taste like carrots or red bell pepper.
wow! nice blog! ansipag mo gumawa ng bento! idol!
i love making shepherd's pie too, but since i'm tamad i only make one layer of beef and potatoes. hahah! i usually make a large pyrex of this and it usually lasts for a few days. it keeps well in the freezer. also, i got tired of mashing potatoes and discovered a great instant idaho potato mix at costco. try mo, its really like the real thing!
